Letters: Sea Shanty
Dear Parrots magazine,
Sea Shanty
I don’t know if many parrot owners have listened to the “Sea Shanty” song, the one that goes “There once was a ship that put to sea and the name of the ship was the Billy of tea …”
Dear Parrots magazine,

Dear Parrots magazine,
I read with much interest in last month’s issue (April 23) about the Marmite Parakeets that are colonising in a number of countries. I assume by using the term ‘Marmite’ the insinuation is that you either love them or hate them, hence the Marmite product of the same persuasion. However, I love Marmite!
Dear Parrots magazine,
I had heard quite a few comments that Scarlet Macaws can be quite aggressive and don’t make very good pet companions. Well, I had my eye on a Scarlet Macaw at a garden centre that I visit regularly and each time this macaw grew on me.
Dear Parrots magazine,
Once upon a time, I used to breed African Greys and then hand-reared them from hatching in an incubator. But luckily, I have realised how bad that was to deprive a pair of their breeding desires and the frustration, even the suffering I subjected them to.
Dear Parrots magazine,
I have a small collection of cockatoos in an aviary which produce healthy youngsters and would like to move on to larger species.
Dear Parrots magazine,
It was a sunny day in the Spring of 2017 when we all went to a garden centre to buy some hanging basket plants. With my husband and myself was our eldest daughter, Lauren, who had just turned 19. It was a very busy day for the centre with many people walking to their cars with lots of purchases.
