If you already have one parrot, you may well consider getting another one, for a wide range of reasons. In this article Greg Glendell discusses the issues involved and how best to go about introducing a second bird.

Many parrot keepers, after having their first bird often contemplate the idea of getting another one, but there are many aspects to consider before doing so. First, examine why you are wanting another bird. Has your first bird become over-bonded to one member of the family, perhaps to the extent where it is aggressive to other people? Or are you thinking of getting another bird as company for the first one? If this is your main reason, what do you think might happen when the two birds meet up? Will they fight or be indifferent to each other or will they want to pair up?
