Spix’s will fly free again

I was thrilled to read in the August 2012 issue of Parrots that in the next decade a small flock of Spix’s macaws will be reintroduced to the wild, in the first of several planned releases.

My Red-bellies, quite different!

I have never bred these birds but did have some youngsters years ago, but my experience with this poicephalus species was quite different from those described by Linda Au in the October 2012’s issue of Parrots.
