Parrots Lost and Found Register UK

John Hayward compiles the Lost and Found Register nationwide and updates this site on a regular basis. John is a past Detective Inspector and Wildlife Liaison Officer, which qualifies him admirably for this position. His work is invaluable to parrot keepers when birds have been lost or stolen.
If anyone has suffered a loss in this way, please contact John rather than Parrots magazine as he has nationwide contacts and an excellent relationship with most police forces. We thank him for this invaluable service.

Stolen 17.05.2017 17386 Major Parrot Theft – Dewsbury – Yorks – Security Warning Overnight 16/17 May 2017 external aviaries of a private breeder residing in the Dewsbury area of Yorkshire were attacked by thieves. Entry via small holes in windows. Highly selective. Stolen: A large collection of KAKARIKIS, many of which are hybrid with unique colouration. One pair is valued at £3,000-00 and one single bird at £4,000-00. Total value stolen in region of £20,000-00. The offenders not only stole upwards of 100 birds but left many with broken legs and other injuries. The stolen birds have rings with part initials ‘CJ-‘ It is believed that they were transported away in bags or sacks as the windows they broke to gain access were too small to allow for the passage of boxes or other containers. This victim has been specifically targeted due to the quality of his stock which are traded but not exhibited. All such specialist breeders are to be vigilant. These birds have been stolen to order. Rewards have been offered for the birds and the callous thieves. Any information to John Hayward National Theft Register Tel: 01869 325699 Email: jh@ntr.supanet.com
