Dear Parrots magazine,

Shredded paper works a treat!

I have always used newspaper to line my bird cages, but have found that some birds tear it into tiny pieces.  This leaves the cage bottom bare.  It keeps them amused, but it does not make cage-cleaning easy!

I have been a dedicated hobbyist breeder for over 45 years and wish to express my disappointment at the quality of modern-day birds and urge breeders to join a ‘new club for quality.’

Contrary to recent comments in your magazine regarding Indian ringnecks being only suitable as aviary birds, and psittacula parakeets having a weaker bond with humans I wish to set the record straight.

Willow supports took root!

I was pleased to see the picture of John Hayward in your Think Parrots Souvenir Hand-out in July’s magazine. We were amongst those who helped him raise £50 for the World Parrot Trust by buying willow sticks from him.
