Dear Parrots magazine,

More on free flying please?

I really enjoyed reading Jacquie's story about her free-flying birds.  I particularly appreciated her candor in reporting the ups and downs (pun intended) of her birds' free-flying adventures.  That takes courage, as I've found the parrot community can be well meaning but judgemental.

Jacquie's honesty, in confessing the flying 'accidents' her birds have incurred makes me more comfortable with my own macaw's misadventures. I know that there is much reasonable emphasis on parrot safety and this needs to be taken into consideration when deciding to allow your bird flying rights.   I hope that parrot 'parents' would know their bird well enough to make the right decision.

Please feature more stories about free-flying birds.

Caroline, by email
