Dear Parrots magazine,

Inseperable

My family had never thought of having a bird in the house, that was until we saw this magazine in the pet superstore, 'Pets at Home' - the issue we saw had a cockatiel on the front. My daughter, who has just turned 12, originally went to see the small furries but was taken by the magazine cover.

To cut a long story short, she decided to buy a cockatiel and managed to find a shop that sold hand-reared cockatiels. The two of them are now inseparable and she thinks the world of this bird. She has called him “Patch” as his feathers are like big patches (we were told it is a him), I think the girl in the shop said it was a 'pied'. This little bird now controls the whole household as we have all become very fond of him.
